Kate and I went to Bolivia to meet the Amauta people on behalf of the Druid tradition and the Stonehenge Druids. We hoped to learn what our cultures might share in common. We were received with warmth hospitality and love by a great people who invited us into their homes, their community, their sacred celebrations, their most sacred places and into their hearts.
At Tiwanaku on Solstice eve we were given a special tour of the temple, and held ceremony there in the temple of the underworld / ancestors. On solstice day we were placed front row with ambassadors from around the world, and after the ceremony, were introduced to the countries president.
We left Bolivia with heavy hearts for we have left behind new friends, brothers and sisters, spirit family. In Bolivia the land sings and the people sing back to her. All is well. Now the work begins to apply all that we have learned on this journey for the greater good of our people, all people and for Mother Earth. This is a beginning.

& Kate:
"
Nosotros estamos muy contentos de tenerlos, muchas gracias
We are very happy
to have you here. We apreciate it, thank you.
Porque no es solamente una expectativa
individual, nosotros nunca soñamos solamente para nosotros.
It is not just our personal
dream, our personal expectation.
Nuestros abuelas y abuelos nos han encargado que
no hay un sueño solo individual, no hay, no es posible un sueño solo individual para
si mismo. Es un sueño para todos nosotros. Es un encuentro de todos nosotros.
Our
grandmothers, our grandfathers have given us the responsibility that is not just
a dream for one person – a dream for just one doesn't exist – it’s a dream for all
of us. It’s a meeting of us all.
Por lo tanto, la llegada de ti, Frank, y de ti, Kate,
ha llenado profundamente nuestro corazon. Tal vez teníamos poco tiempo para hablar
en el lenguaje oral, pero si lo hemos sentido profundamente en nuestro corazon. Y
estamos contentos. Se que nuestros abuelos también están contentos, porque este es
un plan muy grande. Nosotros lo sentimos así.
So, your visit, Frank, and yours, Kate,
filled aour hearts profoundly. Maybe we had little time to talk verbaly, but we did
feel you deep in our hearts. And we’re happy. I know that our grandfathers are also
happy, because this is a very big (important) plan. That’s how we fell it.
Se ha unido
Stonhenge con Tiwanaku. Uno solo. Y vamos a continuar todavía. Este es el principio.
Este es el inicio.
Stonehenge and Tiwanaku united. They became one. And we will continue.
This is the beginning. This is the start.
Y en nombre de mis ancestros, mis abuelos,
mis abuelas, quiero agradecer a sus ancestros, porque muchos razones, muchos proyectos
tenemos todavía de nuestros pueblos. Pero este es un buen momento para estar en paz,
en tranquilidad.
And in the name of my ancestors, my grandfathers, I want to thank
your grandfathers, because we have many projects to do together, many reasons to
be together. But now it‘s the time to be at peace (the moment of saying goodbye).
Y
quiero dar un mensaje para hermanos y hermanas que nos escuchan.
And I want to give
a message to our brothers and sisters who are listening.
Estamos viviendo tiempos
muy importantes, tiempos en las que esta cambiando la vida. La naturaleza, la Madre
tierra esta cambiando. Cosmos esta cambiando. Por lo tanto no podemos seguir viviendo
así. "Vivir mejor", no.
We live in very important times, in times when life is changing.
The nature, the Mother Earth is changing.The cosmos is changing. That’s why we can’t
live like that any more. Trying to "living better", no! (In Bolivia "living better"
refers to a greedy life style of wanting always more, more, more – as if you had
more, you’d live better.)
La modernidad ha destrozado el equilibrio, ha destrozado
la vida. Ya no podemos vivir así. Tenemos que cambiar. Tenemos que vivir como nuestros
abuelos y nuestras abuelas vivieron. Ellos no fueron pueblos barbaros o pueblos primitivos,
no. En el sentido que eran inconscientes. Absolutamente no.
Modernity has destroyed
the equilibrium, has destroyed life. We can’t go on like this. We have to change.
We have to live like our grandfathers and grandmothers. They weren’t barbarians,
they weren’t primitive people – in the sense of not being conscious. Absolutely no.
Nuestro
ancestros, pueblos como en Stonhenge los druidas, los Celtas, muchos otros pueblos,
tenemos una consciencia, una vida natural, un proceso de encuentro natural. Y aquí
en Bolivia, en el mundo de Sudamérica en general, lo llamamos "vivir bien".
Our ancestors,
peoples like druids, Celts en Stonehenge and many others, have a consciousness, a
natural way of life. This, in Bolivia and South America in general, we call "living
well".
Y "vivir bien" significa vivir en armonía, vivir en equilibrio. En armonía
con Madre tierra. La Madre tierra vive, somos sus hijos. En equilibrio con los demás
seres. Y eso es que tenemos que hacer: recuperar – al recuperar el contacto, el mensaje
de nuestros abuelos, nos recuperamos y recuperamos la vida. En eso tenemos que estar
conscientes.
And "living well" means living in harmony, living in equilibrium. In
harmony with Mother Earth. Mother Earth lives, we are her children. In equilibrium
with other living beings. This is what we have to recuperate: the contact, the message
of our grandfathers – if we do this, we will recuperate life. We have to be conscious
of this.
Tal vez muchos no entienden español. Pero nosotros no hablamos solamente
con la cabeza, sino hablamos con el corazón. Y en eso no hay necesidad de traducción.
Solo lo sentimos profundamente.
Maybe many of you don’t understand Spanish. But we
don’t speak just with our head, we speak with our heart. And this doesn’t need translation.
We just feel deeply.
Yo podría hablar en aymara que es mi lengua madre. Y allí decimos
un principio básico: Pachakamak, Pachamama wawa patanwa, significa, somos hijos de
Padre cosmos, somos hijos de Madre tierra. Y estamos cambiando. La vida va a continuar,
pero va a continuar en armonía y equilibrio.
I could speak Aymara which is my mother
language. In Aymara we have a basic principle: Pachakamak, Pachamama wawa patanwa,
which means, we are children of Father Cosmos and Mother Earth. And we’re changing.
The life will go on, but it will go on differently: in harmony and equilibrium.
Y
nosotros somos parte de ese proceso importante de cambio. Estos encuentros están
uniendo no solamente personas, están uniendo pueblos, sueños, sabidurías ancestrales.
Propósitos mas grandes que solamente lo humano. Propósitos de la vida. Y en eso no
tenemos que perdernos. Tenemos que reorientarnos.
And we are part of this important
process of change. These visits are uniting not only persons; they are uniting peoples,
dreams, ancestral wisdom's. There are plans ay beyond just human: these are plans
of life as whole. We should not forget this. We have to change our perception of
life.
Allí están nuestros templos más grandes. No son ruinas. Son templos porque viven.
Stanehenge es un templo, Tiwanaku es un templo, por lo tanto viven. Y por lo tanto
nos llaman, nos recuerdan, nos reorientan en algo más profundo que solamente "vivir
mejor". Y eso mas profundo nosotros llamamos "vivir bien".
There are our biggest
temples. They are not ruins. They are living temples. Stonehenge is a temple, Tiwanaku
is a temple, so they’re alive and they call us, they remind us, they give us the
right orientation in life of a way of life that reaches beyond just "living better".
Tenemos
que vivir bien. Y vamos a repetir muchas veces: tenemos que vivir en equilibrio y
en armonía. Respetar a la Madre tierra, respetar a los demás seres porque los demás
seres son importantes para nosotros.
We have to live well. And we will repeat it
many times: we have to live in harmony and equilibrium. We have to respect Mother
Earth and other living beings because they are important to us.
Un nuevo tiempo esta
naciendo. En 21. de junio hemos visto nacer el sol, padre sol. Y muy temprano hemos
dicho: "Padre sol, así como tu amaneces en el horizonte de la vida, amanece en mi
corazón. "
A new time is being born. On 21st of June we saw the sun being born, our
Father Sun. Early in the morning (at sunrise) we said: "
Father Sun, the same way
as you rise at the horizon of life, rise in my heart."
Y eso significa una consciencia.
Eso significa despertar. Y estamos aquí para despertar.
It means a type of consciousness.
It means waking up. We are here to wake up.
Gracias a ustedes, gracias a sus ancestros,
gracias a sus pueblos.
Thank you, thanks to your ancestors, thanks to your people.
Nosotros
hemos recibido una educación en cual la historia oficial nos presenta como pueblos
barbaros. No somos barbaros, ni los indígenas originarios ni los Celtas ni los druidas
no somos barbaros. Somos seres que podemos aportar un mensaje a la vida, un mensaje
a los pueblos, un mensaje de sabiduría.
In our schools official history shows us
as barbarian peoples. We are not barbarians, nor indigenous peoples or Celts or druids.
We are beings who can contribute with a message of life, a message of peoples, a
message of wisdom.
Muchas gracias. Ese encuentro es un principio de muchos de muchos
otros encuentros.
Thank you very much. This meeting is a beginning of many other
meetings.
Nosotros con cariño desde Bolivia, desde corazón de los Andes, donde nuestros
corazones laten profundamente con el respeto, con la emoción y con la alegría. Para
