Things you can do to make it better for everyone

Treat others with respect, be kind to each other and abide by the conditions of entry.

Remember that this is a sacred place, and at a sacred time, it is NOT a festival.

It is attended by many who revere the Earth, and our right of entry is largely based upon their need to attend for spiritual purpose. Abusing the place with litter, or by drinking to excess, or taking recreational drugs is both offensive to others and poses a real risk to the future of this event which we all enjoy.

A lot of work goes into the preparation of solstice by volunteers and officials alike and everyone including the police and English Heritage want a peaceful and happy solstice that does not obstruct our freedoms yet keeps everyone safe.

Everyone would like to experience being inside the stone circle for part of the time, please take turns at being in the centre and give others the chance too, its for everyone. Older people and little children are especially vulnerable and sometimes intimidated in the crush at the centre so please be watchful for others.

Climbing on the Stones is a big ‘NO NO’ please don’t be the idiot who falls onto a child, or who breaks their own neck by falling, it really is STUPID.

A merry and peaceful Solstice to you all !

For sunrise, look to the North east.

Recommended best places for sunrise photo’s : locate yourself to the southeast or southwest, looking across Stonehenge from the henge embankment.
