Blog - Winter: A time to be creative

Frank  11-11-2009

Its wintertime, that period in Britain where the days are short and the evenings long. Halloween, Firework night and carnivals add excitement to the period approaching winter solstice and the sky, when clear, is like a crystal dome illuminated by the brightest stars whilst moon is framed by leafless limbs of trees.

It’s a magical time, and one in which attention naturally turns towards keeping warm and spending time indoors with friends, family and loved ones. It can also be an opportunity to get creative!

I’ve just taken up painting again after a long absence due to work commitments and the general rush of life but would not have done so without the cooling of the air and long dark evenings. I am so grateful that this year I have had the opportunity to re attune to the seasons and have rediscovered my love of art.
