Winter Solstice Dec 21st 2008
The turnout for winter solstice this year was exceptionally high, we are used to between 800 and 1200 people, but this year an estimated 2000 plus turned out for the long night of the year.
Many faces were new, and the Druids were called upon to perform namings and blessings for children, prayers of safety for people travelling far away, help with healing for loved ones. This was also more than is usual, perhaps in part due to the publicity given to the Stonehenge Bluestone healing properties this year.
Perhaps too it follows a summer solstice where by necessity the crowd participated in a mass healing for Druids involved in a car accident en-route.
